Charlotte Food Pantry Relocates After Break-Ins, Here’s How You Can Help

A long-running Charlotte food pantry has officially moved to a new home after a series of break-ins made its previous location unsafe.

The move affects Hearts United for Good, also known as HUGCLT, a local nonprofit that supports neighbors facing food insecurity, homelessness, and financial hardship.

What Happened

HUGCLT recently relocated its food pantry from its site on North Tryon Street to its new address at 1124 Central Avenue. The former location experienced multiple break-ins that damaged the space and compromised the safety of volunteers and donations.

Why It Matters

Food insecurity affects thousands of Charlotte residents every month. When a pantry experiences break-ins or disruptions, the impact extends directly to families who rely on consistent access to groceries and support. HUGCLT’s relocation shows resilience and dedication, and the Charlotte community now has a chance to rally behind an essential nonprofit.
