The Homeowners Impact Fund was founded in 2020 by Vicky Mitchener, a leader in Charlotte’s real estate community, with a mission to unite industry professionals to give back and make a difference locally. The nonprofit invites realtors, lenders, attorneys, developers, and other housing industry partners to contribute to an ongoing pool of community support that goes directly to shelter providers and social service organizations.

Much of this year’s funding goes to support Charlotte shelter services and housing programs at a time when many nonprofits in the sector are navigating funding challenges. One key partner is Roof Above, a leading nonprofit in the region focused on ending homelessness and providing a full range of housing resources, from emergency shelter to long-term housing solutions.
