SHARE Charlotte Powers a Record Year for Local Giving

Record $9.8M GivingTuesdayCLT + Volunteerism up 40%

Charlotte’s nonprofit community just proved something big. Even in a tough funding environment, this city shows up.

The Momentum Is Real

According to SHARE Charlotte’s 2026 Impact Report, the organization helped drive a surge in local generosity and engagement across Mecklenburg County.

In 2025 alone, more than 213,000 people visited sharecharlotte.org, and volunteerism jumped 40% year over year. More Charlotteans are stepping off the sidelines and into action.

A Record-Breaking Moment

The biggest headline: $9.8 million raised in a single day during GivingTuesdayCLT, a 63% increase from the previous year.

This marks a record-breaking moment for local philanthropy and shows the power of a city rallying around its nonprofits.

More Than Just Donations

Behind the scenes, SHARE Charlotte is doing more than connecting donors to causes.

The nonprofit supports 800+ local organizations, facilitates corporate volunteer programs, and leads initiatives like Agility Together, helping nonprofits stay resilient amid funding challenges and economic shifts.

Programs like this matter more than ever. Hundreds of nonprofits across Mecklenburg County continue to face funding uncertainty, yet they are still delivering essential services to families, youth, and communities across the region.

The Bigger Picture

Zoom out and the impact is even bigger. Over the past 12 years, SHARE Charlotte has helped generate $68 million in total community impact, reinforcing its role as one of the key engines powering social good in the Queen City.

The Takeaway

Charlotte’s nonprofit ecosystem is not just surviving. It is scaling. And the people of this city are backing it with their time, money, and energy.

If you have been looking for a way to give back, volunteer, or support a cause in Charlotte, this is one of the easiest places to start.
